Ayurveda is the holistic medical system from India which has been practised for more than 5,000 years. The word “Ayurveda” can be translated as the “knowledge of life” or the “art of living”. It aims to promote good health in healthy people and to restore health in those who are not well. Ayurveda teaches us to understand our unique body type and constitution and to live in harmony with it. Only when we live according to our constitution we can create optimal health of body and mind.
During an in-depth consultation your body type and any imbalances will be identified through physical assessment, tongue and pulse diagnosis, a discussion of your history, current lifestyle and dietary habits. A tailored programme including suggestions for diet, lifestyle, Ayurvedic herbs and treatments, yoga and breathing techniques will then be put together and explained to you during a follow up session.
Ayurveda can help with various conditions such as digestive disorders, IBS, migraines, stress, weight management, insomnia, skin conditions and more. Often small changes in our diet, lifestyle or thought pattern can have a very positive effect on our health and general wellbeing.
